The greatest winter activities in and around Munich

Winter. Some love it, others less. But for people who really despise the cold weather as well as snow enthusiasts there are enough possibilities to enjoy the cold days. We show you the best winter activities in and around Munich.

Snow, Ice and fresh Air

For some the winter is truly beautiful. Because with clear, pleasant air and nice weather nature invites you to enjoy. Besides athletic classics like ice-skating, sleighing and tobogganing, you can also make dreamlike walks in Munich. Whether you would like to go further out, like to the Starnberger Lake, or stay near to TIMEHOUSE by a walk in the English Garden – for active winter athletes as well as for rather calm minded people, the beautiful snowscape invites to various activites.

Sightseeing in winter

Many sights are not only worth a visit in summer. Because when Munich is covered under a white veil, many places get a special charm, for example, the Nymphenburg Palace or the Hofgarten.

Escape back into the heat

At cold temperatures, many people are drawn back to the cosy warmth. But also for the warmth lovers among us there are numerous ideas for excursions. It could be an educational trip through the German Museum, an exploration of the plant world in the Botanical Garden or an excursion with Caribbean feeling to the Therme Erding – you can always find something enjoyable to do in the cold season.
