Tollwood

An absolute highlight is New Year’s Eve on the Tollwood. The winter festival on 31.12. offers a fireworks sparkling wine in combination with excellent culinary enjoyment and music. On five areas you will be offered one musical highlight after the other. With this you can start the new year in a lively way.

The Lovelace

The Hotel Happening, The Lovelace, ends with the New Year and offers you the last chance to celebrate in the Alte Staatsbank Munich. The finest DJ sound, live performances and a vegan buffet await you.

Bahnwärter Thiel

In order to dream its way into the warm summer nights, the famous railway keeper Thiel opens his open-air area. Here good music, delicacies like mulled wine and other delicacies invite you to celebrate.

Kitzbühel – Austria

Here you will find a mixture of glittering fairytale wonderland and skiing enthusiasm. In December, the city centre is transformed into a Christmas paradise and offers all kinds of delicacies. The nearby Kitzbühel is only 1.5 hours away by car. At the turn of the year you can toast here in the old après-ski manner together with a picturesque mountain scenery.

Salzburg – Austria

Especially traditionally you can celebrate in the Salzburg Old Town into the new year.

To make sure that nothing goes wrong at midnight, when Austria’s biggest New Year’s Eve waltz is performed, there will be a waltz dance course in the afternoon. You can dance and feast all day long in the old town until the early hours of the morning. A special delicacy is the Katerfrühstück from 11.00 a.m. on 01.01.2019. Salzburg can be reached with the regional train in just under an hour from Munich.

The three most popular golf clubs in and around Munich

In and around Munich you can experience golf in a breathtaking setting. Munich is one of the regions with the most golf courses in Bavaria. Experience an unforgettable golf experience in one of Munich’s three most popular golf clubs.

Golf Club Riem

The course with 9 holes is located in the oval of the Riemer racecourse and offers an exciting golf experience with challenging water hazards and numerous “bunkers”. The golf club offers free play opportunities as well as courses for beginners and experts. You can tee off until late in the evening under the floodlit, two-storey driving range with 50 courses. The golf course can be reached by car within 15 minutes from the hotel.

Green Hill

Culinary shopping opportunities in Munich

An important point for us and our guests at TIMEHOUSE is the central location and the proximity to many different shopping possibilities. Therefore we have compiled some recommendations for markets and supermarkets in the area.

Food and daily necessities

In the district named ‘Schwabing’, you can stroll wonderfully and walk through the wide streets. There are plenty of shopping possibilities near the TIMEHOUSE. For example, you can rely on the Feneberg supermarket in the street Leopoldstraße 182 (only 3 minutes far from the TIMEHOUSE). Feneberg sells and produces its own brands, mainly organic and bakery products.

Also various discounters and drugstores are only a few minutes walk away from us. Basically these shops are open from 07:00 am to 08:00 pm from Monday to Saturday and offer almost everything for your daily needs.

Daily and weekly markets

More than 40 weekly markets and farmers’ markets are spread all over the city area around Munich and more than 120 traders from various food sectors supply their guests with fresh products. The Schwabing weekly market at Münchner Freiheit opens its doors every Thursday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm and offers its visitors everything from flowers & plants, fish, meat & poultry to snack stands.

The most famous market in Munich is the Viktualienmarkt, which is open daily until Sunday and offers fruit, vegetables, bread and bakery products as well as specialities such as oysters, the best pretzels at Karnoll’s and Bavarian sparkling wine in the Nymphenburg Café. A highlight in summer! Take a pocket knife, buy something to savour at the market and round it off with a beer in the central beer garden. An experience for the senses. Just like the Elisabethmarkt, to be found at Elisabethlatz 4b. Workshops on various topics are also held here every last Tuesday of the month. Participation is free of charge.
